Funding explained clearly

We help with Attendance Allowance

Attendance Allowance is money for people over State Pension age who need a little extra help at home.
It's not means-tested, and it doesn't affect your State Pension.

Attendance Allowance

£5,959

the highest rate every year, for as long as it is needed

Common Misconceptions

We have savings, so we won't qualify.

Attendance Allowance isn't means-tested. Savings, investments and property make no difference to it.

I checked online and it said no.

The online checker only covers a short list of questions. It can't ask how someone manages at night, how long a meal takes, or what a bad day looks like. Those details are often what decide a claim.

We're coping fine for now.

You may be coping at the moment, however there is support available that you may not have realised, which can help with day to day struggles.

We already claim it.

Worth checking you're on the right rate. We regularly find families on the lower rate who should be on the higher one.

Frequently asked questions

Will this affect my other benefits or my tax?

Attendance Allowance is tax-free. It isn't means-tested, so your income, savings and pension make no difference to eligibility. Being awarded Attendance Allowance can unlock extra amounts in Pension Credit, Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction, and it may allow someone who cares for you to claim Carer's Allowance.

Couldn't I just do this myself?

Yes, and plenty of people do. The hard part isn't the paperwork; it's knowing how to frame the help you need. We walk through a real day with you, ensure you are capturing all the details, and support your application from end-to-end.

What if I've already been turned down?

A refusal often isn't the end. You can support reconsideration requests if within one month of the decision letter.

How do I know you're not a scam?

A sensible question to ask. Your money never touches us. Attendance Allowance is paid by the DWP straight into your own bank account, and there's no mechanism for a third party to divert it. Before anything starts you'll have the chance to speak to the team, an advisor will assigned to you and you pay only if the claim is successful.
